Sandlot Super Semis are at Bogle Field Sat.

In the PeeWee tournament, for eight and under boys, the Salem Spartans, coached by Nathan Overstreet, will take on the Vinton Terriers at 10:30 am Saturday. That will follow a 9 am game between Franklin County and Hidden Valley PeeWee teams..

Overstreet reached the semis by beating the Salem Sabers, coached by Mike Grant, in the opening round. The Spartans then beat a Cave Spring team Saturday at Spartan Field. Glenvar’s PeeWees lost to Hidden Valley and the Salem PeeWees coached by Gary Abbott fell to the Vinton team in the opening round.

In the Little Division, for 10 and unders, the Glenvar Bulldogs, coached by Stacy Hutchison, will play the Cave Spring Knights in the semifinals at noon at Bogle this Saturday. The Knights are coached by Tooey Ondrus, who played quarterback for Salem during his high school days.

In the other Little semifinal North Roanoke will meet Franklin County. North Roanoke, the seventh seed, upset the second seeded Salem team coached by Grant Dawyot at Bogle last weekend.

In the Junior Division, for 12 and under players, Mike Jones’ Salem Spartans are the top seed. The undefeated Spartans beat a Hidden Valley team to reach the semifinals and will play the number five seed from Cave Spring this Saturday at Bogle at 3 pm. The second game, at 4:30 pm, will match third seeded North Roanoke against the second seed from Franklin County.

All championship games will be played on Sunday afternoon, November 12, at Salem Stadium.
