Three Craig County runners will compete in the regional cross country meet this week. The Group 1A, Region C meet will be held Thursday, November 2, at Galax High School.
Craig’s Lynsey Taylor and Alexis Andrews will compete in the girls’ race and Dalton Frango will run in the boys’ race. Both did well in the Pioneer District meet on the Fenwick Mines course in Craig County last week.
Taylor finished second in the girls’ race with a time of 21:30, a minute and 15 seconds behind the winner, Sophie Dryden of Parry McCluer. Andrews was seventh overall at 24:04.
In the boys’ race Frango took 13th with a time of 20:04. The winner was Dillon May of Parry McCluer, who covered the course in 17:14.
Parry McCluer also won both the boys’ and girls’ team titles on the Craig course.
