Last week the Wolverines kept rolling with a 22-0 win over the Norsemen at Northside Middle School. The team was led by a tough defense that recorded their fourth shutout and caused two fumbles and two interceptions.  Jeffrey Phillips and Chauncey Logan had picks while fumbles were recovered by Jake Massey and Owyn Dawyot.

The touchdowns were set up by the tough inside running of Cam Leftwich, Owyn Dawyot and Steven Penn along with the blocking of Addison Wolfe, Cameron Martindale, Stacy Williams, Will Hicks, Sam Jones, and Michael Hannah. Phillips tossed a touchdown pass to Leftwich late in the second quarter to put the Wolverines up 14-0 at the half.

The Lewis seven grade team improved to 5-2-1 record with a 31-28 win at North Cross Monday. The host Raiders counted on big plays while Lewis primarily plowed between-the-tackles. The Wolverines used hard running from Jamien Lingenfelter behind a more consistent offensive line to dominate the clock.

Daron Wilson eluded defenders to connect with Eli Chambers to maintain an early drive that would lead to an Andrew Lewis score. Lingenfelter and Anthny Trovata took turns making key first downs while Wilson extended plays with his feet to find Aston Cornett open down field.

Key stops from Isaiah Barlow, Landon Miles, and Bryson Jones along with a game ending interception by Wilson sealed the win.

The seventh grade team will play Patrick Henry October 12th in Salem Stadium to end the season.
