Roanoke College men 15th, women 17th in Paul Short Run on Lehigh University course

The men’s team placed 15th in the College Men’s White 8K division with 358 points. Southern Connecticut State was the team winner.

Howard Daniels crossed the finish line first for the Maroons in 39th place with a time of 26:46. Devyn Heron was just four seconds behind in 43rd place with a time of 26:53. Tyler Barrett and Nathaniel Willis rounded out the top-100 finishes in 71st and 95th, respectively. Barrett clocked a 27:25, while Willis finished in 27:45.

The women’s team earned a 17th place finish with 439 points in the College Women’s White 6K division. Wesleyan finished atop the leaderboard with 69 points.

Jennifer Barthol led Roanoke with a time of 24:05, placing 60th. Ellen Bauer followed suit with a time of 24:09 in 62nd.

This was the 44th Annual Paul Short Run and it’s the largest intercollegiate cross country meet in the nation with approximately 6,000 athletes representing 450 college and high schools.

Roanoke now takes a two-week break from competition and returns to action on October 14 at the Gettysburg Invitational in Gettysburg, Pa.
