Last week the Craig County cross country team went to Parry McCluer and ran a relay style three-mile race, with parters taking turns running a mile lap of the course.
Craig’s varsity boys teams did the six miles in 41:45 and the varsity girls finished in 45:02. The middle school pair finished their 2-mile race in 18:55. Craig also had one solo runner, Hannah Clark, who finished her 2-mile in 17:52.
The Rockets also ran in the Radford Invitational on Saturday. Craig senior Lynsey Taylor was seventh overall in the girls’ race with a time of 24:05. Anneliese Stewart of host Radford won the race in 23:13.
Others from Craig included Alexis Andrews, who took 20th in 26:16, and Hannah Clark, who was 27th at 27:54. Randalyn Taylor was 44th in the middle school race.
In the boys varsity race Dalton Frango was 35th at 21:48.
The William Byrd boys and Radford girls were team champions in the meet.
