The public is invited to a free Medicare Workshop on October 17 and October 24 at Raleigh Court Library in Roanoke. Donna Short Abbott of Futurity First Insurance Group will present the hour-long workshop. The purpose is to help explain the sometimes confusing and complicated federal health insurance program to anyone who will soon turn 65 and enroll in Medicare.

Medicare 101 will touch on the Medicare enrollment process. We will review Medicare Part A and Part B, as well as Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans and Medicare Supplement health insurance plans. Participants also will learn how Medicare Part D Prescription Drug plans work, how to get help with the cost of prescription drugs and how Medicare works with the Veterans Affairs health care benefits.

The workshop is available at no charge. To register, call Donna Short Abbott at 540-380-8326.

An insurance sales person will be present with information and applications. For accommodation of persons with special needs call 711.

Futurity First specializes in serving the financial security and retirement needs of seniors, pre-retirees and families. Futurity First is an independent, nationwide insurance organization specializing in retirement income and insurance protection solutions from a wide variety of leading insurance companies.

Futurity First is not connected with or endorsed by the United States government or the federal Medicare program.
