Roanoke College Baseball Coach Matt McGuire has announced the dates for his Prospect Camps. All camps take place at Haley Toyota Field at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium.

McGuire will hold camps on August 19, September 10, October 21 and October 28. Players can sign up for the camps on the Roanoke College web-site in the baseball section of Maroon Sports.

The Prospect Camp allows those who are attending to be instructed, evaluated, and coached by the Roanoke baseball staff while being assisted by current and former players.  Campers will receive instruction in specific defensive and offensive breakdowns as well as in game instruction and coaching as well. Campers will learn first hand the coaching style the Roanoke staff utilizes and implements with their players.

Campers will be taken through a pro style workout including on-field batting practice and evaluation along with cage instruction, on-field defensive instruction and evaluation, in game base running instruction, and timed in the 30 and 60 yard dash. Players will also compete in a game against other campers to showcase their baseball abilities, athleticism, and competitive desire. Campers will receive immediate feedback throughout the camp to help them improve their game. The camp will be fast paced and campers will be expected to participate with a great effort, energy, and attitude.

Infielders will play 2B, SS, and 3B during games. Outfielders will play all three outfield positions. Pitchers will not hit during the game.
