Manager ejected after reversed call

The ball beats Salem’s Austin Rei to first base in Monday’s game against Carolina, but Mudcats’ firstbaseman Jake Gatewood is pulled off the bag as he stretches to catch the ball. Rei was initially ruled out, but after a beef from the Sox the umpires huddled and
ruled that Rei should have been called safe. That brought Mudcats manager Joe Ayrault charging out of the first base dugout, where he berated first base umpire Austin Jones for changing the call.

Ayrault claims he saw it “with his two eyes,” and after some salty language that followed Jones tossed Ayrault from the game.
