On Saturday, July 15 the Botetourt Family YMCA is hosting a Summer Soiree at Ballast Point Brewery.

The event is a fundraiser designed to help the Capital Campaign get to $9 million raised by August 1.

In March, Bill Kirk, A YMCA Corporate Board Member and long-time supporter of the Y, challenged the community to bring the Botetourt YMCA campaign to $8,850,000 by August 1. If the challenge is met, Kirk has pledged to add an additional $150,000 gift to his current pledge of $300,000 that will take the campaign to the $9 million mark.

To date, there is $345,000 left for the community to raise to meet the challenge.

“The Botetourt community has been working toward and dreaming about a new YMCA for some time.  If we can meet this challenge in the next few weeks we can start making this dream a reality by breaking ground in September,” said Mark Johnson, President & CEO of YMCA of Virginia’s Blue Ridge. “The sooner we are able to break ground, the sooner we can deliver on our promises to bring transformational programs to Botetourt families.”

The event at Ballast Point is open to the community and all proceeds from the dinner and live auction will benefit the Botetourt Family YMCA.

To purchase tickets to the Summer Soriee, contact Development Director Dale Parris at 540-527-9622 x 3122 or at dparris@ymcaroanoke.org.

You can also donate online to the capital campaign project by visiting the YMCA of Virginia’s Blue Ridge website at www.ymcavbr.org.
