EVERY DAY EXCEPT FOR SUNDAY

The Craig County Public Library is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m., Wednesday from 10 a.m.- 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The library is located at 303 Main St. in New Castle. For more information, call (540) 864-8978 or visit www.craiglibrary.org.

EVERY MONDAY

• Weight Watchers Meeting starting at 4:45 p.m. and meeting at 5:30 p.m. at Craig County High School Media Center. Everyone Welcome – cost pending start date. For more information call 864-5191 ext 4. Facebook/Craig County Weight Watchers.

EVERY THURSDAY

Catawba Valley Farmers Market – 3:30 to 7:00 p.m., at Catawba Community Center.  LOCAL meats, eggs, vegetables, fruits, honey, baked goods including breads, cakes, cookies & scones.  Watch fried pies being made.  Plants, potted flowers, wildflowers.  Handmade arts & crafts.  Music on occasion. Each week, SNAP personnel will demonstrate simple inexpensive recipes on ways to incorporate fresh foods from the farmers market into family dinners.  SNAP/EBT cards accepted. See the Catawba Valley Farmers Market Facebook page for more information.

EVERY FRIDAY

Genealogy Library open 1 to 4 pm, Old Brick Hotel Court & Main Street, New Castle 589-9164.

EVERY SUNDAY

Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, 8 p.m., New Castle Fire Hall.

THIRD MONDAY

Craig County Citizens for the Constitution meets at 7 p.m. at the New Castle Volunteer Fire Department.

FOURTH MONDAY

Craig County Historical Society meeting. Old Brick Hotel, New Castle. 7:00 pm. 864-5866 or 520-5555

FOURTH THURSDAY

Craig County Department of Social Services board meeting, 6:30 p.m., 177 Court St., Second Floor, New Castle.

TUESDAY, JULY 4

Paint Bank Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad Annual July 4 Picnic, Auction and Raffle.  Meal starts at noon and auction will begin at 2 p.m. Come join us for a fun afternoon and help support our very important mission.

SATURDAY, JULY 8

Bethel united Methodist church will hold its annual ice cream supper on the church grounds on at the church on Cumberland Gap Road, Rt. 42 in Craig county. Bethel’s old-style church supper features fried chicken, fresh squeezed lemonade and a large variety of sides and desserts and of course ice cream. The cost of the meal is $10 for adults and $5 for children 2-12. Children under two eat free. Ice cream supper at 6:00 pm. Bethel United Methodist Church is located 15 miles east of Newport and 15 miles west of New Castle on Cumberland Gap Road.
