“No child will be left hungry” seems to be Craig County Public School’s motto. “Craig County Public Schools are excited to announce that we are approved for summer feeding,” Sherry Crowder, the School Nutrition Manager, said. Crowder sent a letter home with each student with the good news.

CCPS is participating in this year’s Summer Food Service Program where meals will be provided to all children regardless of race, color, national origin or disability without charge. There will be no discrimination in regards to meal service.

“Meals will be provided as a first come, first serve basis,” explained Crowder. “There is no cost for any of the children but if adults wish to eat with their child, it will be $2.00 per meal.”

Meals will begin on June 5 and go through July 21. They will be served at the Craig County Public School Cafeteria located on 25239 Craigs Creek Road, New Castle, VA 24127, from 11:15 a.m. until 12:15 p.m.

“All meals must be eaten at the approved site and no food can be taken off school premises,” Crowder explained.

If you have any questions please contact Sherry Crowder, School Nutrition Manager at 540-864-8209 or by email scrowder@craig.k12.va.us.

“I am so happy we will be able to offer this to our community,” Crowder shared. “We want to be able to provide where there is a need.”
