“We had a great ending to our season,” said Glenvar coach Neil Swanson. “The location in the Shenandoah Valley was as beautiful as it can get for a state track meet.  Not to mention, the weather was pretty awesome as well.”

Glenvar has a state champion in Kilian McCroskey, who won the 400 meters with a time of 49.40, winning by just over half a second. Kilian also took seventh in the 200 and ran on the second place 4×400 relay taem with Brady Loder, Dustin Wade and Jack Leonard. They ran a time of 3:32.70.

Wade was second in the 800 with a time of 1:58, breaking a record held by Paul Helmandollar since 1988.

For the girls, Rachel Millirons was fourth in the 3,200 and seventh in the 1,600. The girls 4×100 team of Elissa Acosta, Brooklyn Moorman, Brooke Wright and Logan Dunkenberger just missed scoring with a ninth place finish despite running their fastest time of the season at 52.64.

“That’s pretty good considering this relay team is made up of two freshmen and two sophomores,” said Swanson.

As usual, Maggie Walker High dominated the meet, as the Governor’s School “Dragons” successfully defended their boys and girls championships.
