Fifty-nine crosses, each with the name of a Radford resident who has died while serving in the US armed services, was displayed at the head of the ceremony.
The Radford High School Choir, directed by Darren Goad (left), sang the national anthem at Monday’s 19th annual Memorial Day program at Bisset Park in Radford.
Andrew Meeks played “Amazing Grace” following “Honoring of the Dead” at Monday’s ceremony at Bisset Park.
Lt. Col Alicia Masson spoke for the final time at Monday’s Memorial Day ceremony. Her two-year post as commander of the Radford Arsenal ends in June.
Navy Veteran and American Legion Post 30 member Dana Jackson read the names of the 59 Radford residents who have died serving in the US armed services.
