Maroon women win 5th straight with comeback victory over Lynchburg

Morgan Barlow‘s overtime goal gave Roanoke the come from behind victory as the Maroons improved to 5-1 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Maroons came from 7-1 down to win the game. Barlow also scored two of the last three goals in regulation, including one with 59 seconds on the clock to put the game into overtime.

In overtime, RC’s Katie Clements won the draw control to give RC possession. Barlow was fouled while driving to the net with 3:14 left and was then able to convert a free-position shot to give RC the win.

Barlow finished with four goals and an assist. Jenn Schwecheimer had two goals, while McCartin finished with a goal and two assists. Clements had seven draw controls and seven groundballs for RC.

Emma Blair made three saves for RC, including two key stops after RC had tied the game in the second-half.

Barlow was named the ODAC Player of the Week. The freshman from South Hamilton, Mass., kicked off her seven-point week with two goals, two ground balls, a draw control, and a caused turnover in a 13-5 triumph at Guilford.

The Maroons are back in action Saturday at 1 pm against Randolph-Macon in Ashland.
