The Craig County girls took fourth place in a six-team track meet at Eastern Montgomery High School last week. The host Mustangs won both the girls’ and boys’ team competitions and also competing were Parry McCluer, Bland, Roanoke Catholic and Narrows.
Craig took several seconds individually. Lynsey Taylor was second in the 3,200 in a time of 13:41 and she also took third in the 1,600. Alexis Andrews was sixth in the 1,600 and 11th in the 800.
Tierrney Zysk, taking a day off from the softball team, finished second in the shot put with a heave of 31’ 1”. Tierrney also took fourth in the discus while teammate Autumn Huffman was seventh in that event.
Olivia Menezes, another softball player, was second in the 100 at 13:47 and also took a second in the 200 at 28.03.
Brianna Charlton placed in three events. She was third in the 100, fifth in the long jump and sixth in the triple jump.
The Rockets are scheduled to run at Auburn today.
