The Craig County baseball and softball teams will have scrimmages this week with the spring high school regular season set to begin next week.
The Rocket baseball team had a scrimmage scheduled against Giles on Tuesday, and on Friday the Rockets have a home scrimmage against Roanoke Valley Christian. Brady Price is back in the dugout to coach the Rockets and he’ll be assisted by Tim Edwards on the varsity, with Ben Boardwine and Derek Persinger coaching the jayvees.
Trent Lipes returns to coach the softball team, and the Rockets will have a scrimmage at James River on Friday. The regular season for both teams begins next Tuesday when Craig hosts Auburn in baseball and softball.
The track team won’t begin until March 22 with a meet at Covington.
