A 22-year-old female reported to Radford City Police that she was robbed on Monday a few minutes past midnight in the 200 block of First Ave.

The victim reports she was walking home from a Super Bowl party when she was approached by a black male described as being in his mid-20s, approximately six feet tall, which a short or “buzz type” haircut, wearing baggy, black sweatpants, a red shirt, and a baggy, black zip-up jacket or sweatshirt. The suspect had the hood up, concealing most of his head.

The suspect verbally threatened the victim, grabbed her by the arm and grabbed the victim’s purse. The suspect rummaged through the purse as the victim was trying to flee. The suspect then produced a knife and cut the victim’s face. She received a superficial laceration.

The suspect then removed items from the victim’s purse, tossed the purse back to her, and fled the scene.

This incident is currently under investigation by Radford City Police. Anyone with information about it is asked to contact Radford City Police at 731-5040 or crimestoppers@radfordva.gov.
