Troutville’s Friends of the Park is holding its first Farmers Market Fiesta Saturday, July 24 in Shelter B at the Town Park on Lee Highway (US 11).

Farmers Market vendors will be giving out samples of their good—mini sliders, fruit pizza, blueberry smoothies and more. Crafters also will be giving demonstrations that morning.

The Farmers Market opens at 7 a.m. each Saturday, and the free tastings begin at 10 a.m. It will be held rain or shine.

For more information, call Kathy at 915-3108.

This is one of three events planned in the next three months as part of the Friends of the Park’s efforts to promote Troutville Town Park.

The second is Sunday, Aug. 1 when the group will sponsor Party on the Porch from noon to 5 p.m. at the Apple Barn II on Lee Highway. Refreshments will be served.

This will be a chance to purchase the new Cat’s Meow of the Town Park and get Party in the Park tickets at a discount.

The fifth annual Party in the Park is Saturday, Sept. 11 and will include a children’s bike parade, a bake-off contest, horseshoe tournament and more. The party will be from 2-6 p.m. in Town Park. The rain date is September 12.

For more information on these events, read the Troutville Tidbits online each month at www.townoftroutville.com or call Lee Minnix at 819-6335.
