WAITEVILLE, W.Va. — The Waiteville Community Center Inc. will host a Painting Afternoon from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at the community center.
The event will be led by artist Vicky Grant, who will guide participants in creating a painting titled “Lake Reflections.” The cost is $30 per person and includes all painting supplies.

The community center also is selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a $500 gift certificate to Preston Fencing and Supply, located at 68 Bud Ridge Road in Union, West Virginia.
Preston Fencing and Supply specializes in fencing and farm supplies and also offers fresh produce and Monroe County beef raised without hormones or antibiotics, along with chicken, pork and lamb. Meat also can be specially ordered and purchased in bulk.
Raffle tickets are $1 each and are available from Waiteville Community Center board members and during the painting event Aug. 22.
