U.S. Navy veteran Ronald Parsons received a new roof for his home June 30 through the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project.
The roof was installed by Vinton Roofing Company Inc., an Owens Corning Platinum Roofing Contractor, at Parsons’ home on Hunters Drive in New Castle.
Parsons was selected to receive the roof through a partnership between Owens Corning and Purple Heart Homes. The Owens Corning Foundation donated the roofing materials, while Vinton Roofing Company donated the labor for the installation.
The Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project is a nationwide initiative that honors military veterans and their families by providing new roofs to eligible recipients. Since the program began in 2016, more than 800 military members have received new roofs through the effort.
Vinton Roofing Company, based in Vinton, has provided residential and commercial roofing services throughout the greater Roanoke area for more than 30 years.
