Diane Vaden Reynolds, 68, of Snowville, Virginia, went home to the Lord on June 19, 2026.

Born February 26, 1958 in Blacksburg, Virginia to Marshall and Julia Vaden, Diane spent her childhood years playing in fields and forests with her siblings and cousins. Her lifelong love of reading also started at this time, which gave her a profound intellect and great curiosity for the world around her.

After graduating from Virginia Western Community College, Diane married her high school sweetheart, David. Together they started a family and a business, with Diane balancing the books and the care of their three children with her astonishing ability to multitask.

Diane was the ultimate wife, mother, sister, aunt, and community member. Her holiday gatherings were legendary, marked by her excellent culinary skills and whimsical decorations. She was creative, kind, and intelligent. Her table always had a seat for anyone that needed a meal and her insightful advice. Many young people came to know her as a mother figure.

Her interests were expansive, such as tending to her spectacular gardens, fiber arts, collecting antiques, fishing, and relaxing on her lakeside porch. She enjoyed riding in antique cars, boats, and motorcycles, especially with her husband. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and took great pride in their accomplishments. She spent countless hours guiding them through life in innumerable, irreplaceable ways.

Diane is survived by her husband of almost 45 years, David; her children Nikki Reynolds (Miller), Allen Reynolds (Kristin), and Josh Reynolds; two grandchildren Reese Reynolds and Orin Miller; and her sisters Joann All, Linda Allen (Wayne), and Brenda Vaden; sister-in-law Jackie S. Taylor (Glen); as well as her nephews Michael, Jamie, Jessie, Dylan, Levi, and Ian; her niece Nicole; great-niece Marie and great-nephew Jacob. She was preceded in death by her parents , her brother, Rick, and her brothersin-law, Mike and Bobby.

A private memorial will be held by her family. Donations in her honor may be made to Friends of Claytor Lake (FOCL).
