The Craig County Rockets were scheduled to wrap up the softball regular season on Monday with a home game against Highland. At press time the game was still on despite morning rain.
The Rockets had just one game last week, a home game with Bath County, and had another home game with Northside rained out. The Rockets lost to Bath, 5-1, in a Pioneer District showdown. The Rockets will not make up the Northside game.
“Errors killed us once again,” said Craig coach Elaina Wolfe-Carper. “Kammie(Fisher) pitched well, allowing zero earned runs. On offense, we struggled to string together hits and get the ball in play.”
The loss dropped Craig to 1-11 on the season and the Rockets are 1-8 in Pioneer District games with the Highland game wrapping up the Pioneer regular season.
