An early arrival of winter and the conclusion of the first semester highlighted January reflections shared with the Craig County Public Schools community in the latest edition of “The Rocket Rundown.”

Superintendent Jason A. Wheeler, Ph.D., noted that several rounds of snowfall arrived earlier than expected this year, transforming the county’s landscape while also creating challenges for travel and daily routines. Despite the cold temperatures, Wheeler said the wintry conditions offered opportunities for the community to slow down, appreciate the season’s beauty and lean on one another during snowy days.

As the first semester of the school year comes to a close, Wheeler thanked students, staff, families and community members for their continued support of Craig County Public Schools. He said the semester was marked by hard work, growth and a shared commitment to providing students with a high-quality educational experience.

Wheeler praised students for their dedication in the classroom and beyond and expressed appreciation for the professionalism and care demonstrated by school staff. He also emphasized the importance of strong partnerships with parents and community members, calling their engagement and support vital to the division’s success.

On behalf of Craig County Public Schools, Wheeler thanked the community for its continued trust and support moving into the remainder of the school year.
