Francis Marion Ross died on Saturday, May 24, 2025. Marion was born at Lewis-Gale Hospital, Roanoke, Virginia, on February 9, 1951, to James Francis Ross and Pauline Caldwell Ross. He grew up on the Sinking Creek family farm in Craig County and attended Craig County schools.
Marion was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Pauline Ross.
Marion is survived by his wife of 52 years, Enola Caldwell Ross, and sons: Shay Jason Ross (Deanna) and Charles Francis Ross, granddaughters: Jessica Darby Ross and Emily Colleen Ross, and his sister, Clara Ross Leftwich and Tim Leftwich.
Marion was a Deacon and faithful groundskeeper at Craig Healing Springs Christian Church.
Marion retired in 2007 from Yokohama Tire after 33 years. He loved to hunt and play golf. He was an avid NASCAR and New York Yankees fan. Marion was a faithful son, brother, husband, and friend. He was so very proud of his sons and granddaughters. His buddies included Eugene Hannah, Wade Dudding, Allen Milton, Jerry Lamb, Russell Caldwell, Richard Whitlow, and so many more. Marion loved his pets, Polly and Axel. Our house was always full of pet fur. Since he was a young boy, he spent many pleasant visits to Sinking Creek Store (thank you to Sis Kessinger).

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Paitsel Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Ross Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service 1-2 PM.
