The Craig County football and volleyball teams have been practicing to get ready for the coming fall sports season. The first Virginia High School League football and volleyball games are scheduled for the week of August 26.
The Rocket football team had a scrimmage at Stonewall Jackson High School in Quicksburg, VA last Friday. The Rockets will have a home scrimmage on Friday, August 23, at 6 pm against Richwood High of West Virginia, then open at home against Bland County on August 30.
The volleyball team will open the season with a home-and-home against North Cross. The Rockets will host the Raiders on Tuesday, August 27, for the opener and then play at North Cross for their second game on Thursday, August 29.
