The spirit of giving has always seemed to be prominent in Craig County and on April 27, the Craig Valley Baptist Church will continue that blessing as they will be serving their community by giving away food boxes to anyone in the community who would need one.
It will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 1 p.m. or until they run out of food. It will be first come, first serve.
This is unique as they will set it up as a drive-thru around the side of the church which is located at 171 Salem Avenue in New Castle, directly across from the Lions Park.
One will enter from the back of the church off Holcombe Avenue and drive through the church’s back gate, up the side of the church, where helpers will load the food into your vehicle. You will then exit from the front of their main parking lot onto Route 311.
They can give only one per family, so the love of sharing is extended to many.
Most of their supplies are donated to them by Feeding America so the church will be filling up bags or boxes from their pantry shelves to help Craig County residents.
They also have a food pantry that is available weekdays on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, for people to stop by and receive food, from 9am until noon.
Everyone is welcome to get this gracious gift from the church on April 27.
Those with questions may call the church at (540) 864-5667.
“We have been doing this for the past three years, and we just want to reach out to the community to show them that we care,” shared member Carol Looney. “Times are tough right now and people may need some extra food. We feel this is a ministry that shows the God’s love to everyone and anyone.”
