The Craig County soccer team was scheduled to host Buffalo Gap for their home opener last Friday but poor field conditions and predicted bad weather forced the game to be postponed. The first home game is now scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, against the Covington Boys’ Home.
The Rockets fell to 0-2 last week when they dropped a 9-0 game at Narrows. Craig has yet to score and has been “mercy ruled” in both games.
“We had to start the game with 10 players so it was difficult to overcome that,” said coach Joel Peterson. “Our keeper, Austin Fowler, made some great saves and the team played hard.”
The Rockets were scheduled to play at Eastern Montgomery on Tuesday of this week but results were too late for publication.
