The Craig County soccer team opened the season last Thursday with a trip to Covington to take on the Boys Home. The Rockets dropped an 8-0 decision in a game stopped early by the mercy rule.
“All things considered our kids played hard and played with excellent sportsmanship and attitudes to the end,” said first year coach Joel Peterson.
Craig also had a scrimmage at Buffalo Gap on Monday, March 18, and dropped a 7-0 decision.
The soccer team is off for spring break this week, returning to the pitch on Tuesday, April 2nd, with a game at Narrows. The home opener is Friday, April 5th, when Craig hosts Buffalo Gap.
