The Lemon & Vale Cakery’s grand opening was Saturday, April 22. However, the owner, Dawn Perkey, was not prepared for the multitude of citizens that chose to support her event from the moment the door opened. The line was out the door for the first few hours, but people patiently waited in line for 45 minutes to get their favorite coffee, tea and special “cakeries.” When Perkey was asked if she expected this huge turnout, she replied with happy exhaustion, “I don’t know if I will be able to be open tomorrow, as I may sell out today!”
