Patsy Shires Zimmerman, 87 of New Castle, died on Wednesday, November 27, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlton Zimmerman; parents, George and Leona Shires; brother, Melvin Shires; sisters, Wanda Donahue, Joann Moore and Luella McDaniel.
She is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Donnie Parsons, Gary (Tana) Shires of New Castle; daughters and son-in-law, Deborah (Evant) Butcher of Roanoke and Patricia (Bo) Duncan of Christiansburg; brother, Tommy Shires; sisters, Carol Shires, Barbara Elmore, Margaret Huffman, Betty Bostic, & Roberta Franklin; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Per Patsy’s request, there will be no service. Donations may be made to the Craig County Rescue Squad, fire department or charity of your choice in Patsy’s name.
