James A. Anderson, 69, of New Castle, went to heaven to be with his Lord, on Friday, August 30, after a long battle with ALS. James was born September 26, 1949, to Elmer and Etha Anderson. He was preceded in death by parents; Elmer and Etha Anderson, infant siblings, brothers; Russell Anderson and Stanley Shifflett, father-in-law and mother-in-law; John and Margaret Harden, sister-in-law; Bonnie Harden and brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Bobby and Rebecca Harden.
He is survived by loving wife of 33 years Reta Anderson, sister; Edith (Mike) Goff, brother-in-law; Kenneth Harden, sister-in-law; Linda (Tommy) Strickler and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to specifically thank special caregiver Val Vess and Hospice Amedisys; Matt and Jennifer Mundy with the ALS Society. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, at Cross Roads Church with Don Ford officiating. The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the service.
