The 36th Annual Craig County Fall Festival will take place on Saturday, October 13, in downtown New Castle. Sponsored by the Craig County Historical Society, the festival is a community-wide fundraising event in which both locals and travelers from around the region enjoy fall colors and mountain vistas.
Last year’s festival attracted 112 vendors who lined both sides of Main Street and parts of Court Street, while a record number of antique cars were displayed on Middle Street.
Special events being planned for the 2018 Festival include animals from Little Critter’s Petting Zoo and face painting done by Jean Lewis of Lib’s Lab. Music by a variety of local bands will fill the stage being provided by Zimmerman’s Equipment, where opening ceremonies will begin at 9:00 a.m.
The Historical Society will serve a country breakfast in the dining room of the Old Brick Hotel beginning at 7:30 a.m., followed by lunch of beans and cornbread about 11:30 a.m. The festival will conclude with raffle drawings at 4:30 p.m.
Crafters, educational exhibits and food vendors are welcome to contact Mary Page Cosby at 540-864-6646 about renting spaces on the street. For information about the Marshall Reynolds Antique Car Show, contact Jackie Taylor at 540-520-5555.
