Craig County seniors Lynsey Taylor(left) and Jesse Brizendine were Rocket nominees for the annual B’nai B’rith awards.
The award signifies excellence in academics as well as athletic achievement and devotion to community service. Each school in the Roanoke Valley area nominates a boy and a girl each year, and the winners are announced at an annual spring banquet held at the Sheraton Hotel in Roanoke. The Rocket nominees posed for this photo with Craig County athletic coordinator Carrie Hutton(middle). Cave Spring’s Reagan Delp and Patrick Henry’s Henry Harmon were the big winners at the 68th annual B’nai B’rith Awards banquet on May 14. Delp, who played tennis and ran track for the Knights, will continue her athletic and academic careers at Christopher Newport. Harmon, a wrestler for the Patriots, is on his way to Washington & Lee.
