The Pioneer District softball tournament scheduled for last week went much like the regular season; rained out.
The tournament got through one round before rains washed out the rest. Craig, with a first round bye, played no games in the tournament that was scheduled for the Jackson River Complex in Covington.
This week the Region 1C tournament was scheduled to begin on Monday, and Craig earned a first round home game. However, Sunday rain made the field in New Castle unplayable and the game, against George Wythe, was rescheduled for Tuesday afternoon in Covington at the Jackson River Complex.
If the Rockets won Tuesday afternoon, they will advance to a 5:30 pm game on Wednesday against the winner of a game between Auburn and Eastern Montgomery. That will also be at the Jackson River Complex.
The Region 1C championship is Thursday in Covington and both finalists advance to the state tournament.
