The Craig County baseball, softball and soccer teams continued to have bad luck with the weather last week as showers soaked the fields in New Castle.

The baseball, softball and soccer teams all had games rained out that will not be made up. This week Pioneer District tournaments are scheduled for all three sports with hopes for better weather.

The baseball team was scheduled to open Monday at Eastern Montgomery. Semifinals were scheduled for Tuesday at Casey Field in Covington, and the championship and a third place game will be Thursday at Casey Field. The consolation game is scheduled for 5:30 pm with the championship to follow.

Craig’s softball team received a first round bye. The Rockets were scheduled play Tuesday at the Jackson River Complex in Covington against the winner of an opening round game between Eastern Montgomery and Narrows. The championship game is at the Jackson River Complex on Thursday, following a 5:30 pm consolation game.

Craig’s soccer team was scheduled to play host to Narrows on Monday in a Pioneer opening round game. The winner advanced to a Tuesday semifinal round game at Southern Virginia University against top-seeded Covington. The championship is at SVU Thursday at 7 pm following a 5:30 pm third place game.
