The Craig County softball team lost for just the second time when the Rockets dropped a 6-0 game to the Blues in Buena Vista last Friday.
Craig had six hits, including two by Tierrney Zysk, but all six were singles and the Rockets couldn’t put a scoring rally together. Maggie Huffman started on the mound for the Rockets and took the loss despite four strikeouts. Hannah Taylor closed out the game on the bump.
With the loss Craig dropped to 5-2 overall and 4-2 in Pioneer District games. The Rockets have a busy week with a doubleheader at Bath County on Monday, a home game with Eastern Montgomery today and a home doubleheaders with Narrows on Thursday. The East Mont game was postponed from last week.
The Pioneer District Tournament is scheduled to begin next week, with games on May 22 and 24.
