The first year Craig County soccer team is still looking for a win, but the Rockets are getting better.
Craig played host to Parry McCluer last week and battled the Blues to a 6-1 decision. Dalton Henderson scored the first goal in the history of the program on a penalty kick and Andrew Kendall was solid in the goal with 17 saves.
“Our play in the second half was tremendous,” said coach Robin Nobles. “We gave up four goals in the first half, but really played a good game in the second half. We’re improving.”
Now 0-3, the Rockets were scheduled to play at Pocahontas on Monday of this week but that game was rained out. Craig is at Covington today, and a game with Bath scheduled for Friday was also postponed due to a school event at Bath. Coach Nobles was hoping to reschedule the Pocahontas game for sometime this week, but nothing was decided at press time.
