Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) recently issued the following statement after supporting passage of H.R. 2874, the 21st Century Flood Reform Act:
“This bill would make the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) fairer for policyholders while putting it on a sounder fiscal footing. The NFIP should better serve the needs of the Ninth District, and this bill will make the NFIP serve us better. I am also pleased that the 21st Century Flood Reform Act includes some of the improvements I had introduced and worked for. They include streamlining the flood mapping process and compromise language to make the appeals process easier. The House recently took an important step to reform the NFIP. I will continue working to get these needed reforms to the President’s desk.”
