Craig County senior Lynsey Taylor wrapped up an outstanding four year high school cross country career with a 17th place finish in the state Class 1 meet. The meet was held at the Great Meadows course in The Plains, VA on Saturday.
Taylor finished with a time of 21:32, which was just two seconds away from a top 15 finish. The winning time was 19:49 by Rachel Weghorst of Rappahannock County.
Auburn High, a fellow member of Class 1, Region C with Craig County, won the team competition for both the boys and the girls. The Auburn girls had 58 points to 110 for second place Mathews High and the Auburn girls outran second place George Wythe, 40 points to 70.
