Craig County’s Noah Moler shot a two-round total of 146 in last week’s state Group 1A golf tournament at the Heritage Oaks course in Harrisonburg.
The two-day tournament was held Monday and Tuesday. Noah opened with a 74 on his first round, then followed it up with a 72 on the second day. That was good for a fifth place finish in the state.
“He kept hitting one clutch putt after another, and played very steady both days,” said Craig County golf coach Fred Moler. “His focus was very impressive. He played two great rounds.”
Noah earned All-State honors with the fifth place finish. He was also the Pioneer District champion and an All-Region selection.
The individual medalist was Carter Vance of Auburn, who shot 73 and 66 for 139. The Auburn team won the state Group 1A championship.
