Catawba Valley Farmers Market is open from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Catawba Community Center. LOCAL meats, eggs, vegetables, fruits, honey, baked goods including breads, cakes, cookies and scones. Watch fried pies being made. Plants, potted flowers, wildflowers. Handmade arts & crafts. Music on occasion. Each week, SNAP personnel will demonstrate simple inexpensive recipes on ways to incorporate fresh foods from the farmers market into family dinners. SNAP/EBT cards accepted. The Botetourt/Craig/Roanoke Farm Service Agency County Committee meets the third Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. at the Bonsack USDA Service Center. Please call one-day prior to the meeting date regarding possible cancellation information. The Bonsack USDA Service Center is located at 36 Executive Circle, Suite 1, Roanoke, VA 24012. All County Committee meetings are open to the public.

Come join us for an evening of NIGHT SKY STARGAZING from 8 to 11 p.m. at Craig Valley Baptist Pavilion, Rt. 615. We are trying again and will hope for clear skies. The turn off to the pavilion is across from the Forest Service sign on Rt. 615. Turn off there and immediately turn left to drive around a field to the pavilion near the creek. There will be a sign and yellow balloons. It is not on Old Railroad Avenue. The event is cancelled by cloudy, stormy skies. We will send an email to let you know if the event is cancelled or you can call Craig County Library 864-8978 to find out.
