The Salem High girls soccer and lacrosse teams both made it to the state tournament this year, and when the Virginia High School League All-Group 4A state teams were announced this week they were well-represented.
Salem’s state runnerup girls’ soccer team had two girls named to the first team, senior Hannah Coulling and junior Evyn Magenbauer. Junior Mallory Edwards was named to the second team.
The Spartan girls’ lacrosse team made it to the Final Four, and they also had three girls deemed “All-State.” Junior Lilly Blair was a first team selection while fellow juniors Makenzie Redding and goalie Maddie Bowman were named to the second team.
