Two Craig County seniors were recently honored with the B’nai B’rith Athletic and Academic Acheivment Award. Olivia Menezes was the girls’ honoree from Craig County and Chad Ryan received the award for the boys.
The B’nai B’rith award goes to a boy and girl from each of the local Roanoke Valley high schools based on excellence in varsity sports, community service and academic excellence. They were honored with a banquet in May at the Sheraton Hotel in Roanoke where two overall winners were chosen. This year’s winners were Drew Freeland of Hidden Valley High for the girls and Adam Catron of William Byrd High for the boys. Here Olivia and Chad are pictured with Craig County athletic director Carrie Hutton.
