A culvert rehabilitation project is underway at two locations along Interstate 77 in Craig County, with traffic impacts expected on Route 743 and Route 148 through the end of 2026.
According to transportation officials, the work includes repairs beneath I-77 at mile marker 23.6 and mile marker 8. Flagging operations, as well as temporary lane and shoulder closures, will be in place during the project.
At the first site, located under I-77 at mile marker 23.6 on Route 743 (Pleasant View Road), intermittent flagging may occur between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Officials said there will be no traffic impacts to I-77 at this location.
At the second site, near mile marker 8 on I-77, work will impact the ramp shoulder at Exit 8. A lane closure may also be in place on Route 148 (Chances Creek Road) for several days during construction.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
