The WVPEC Teacher Recruitment Job Fair was held from 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 14 at the Salem Civic Center, 1001 Boulevard.

The event was open to licensed teachers, nurses, administrators and others who will be licensed before the start of the 2026-27 school year, as well as individuals seeking information about becoming licensed. Nineteen public school divisions, including Craig County Public Schools, that are part of the West Virginia Public Education Consortium participated, offering opportunities for questions and on-site interviews. Some divisions offered same-day contracts.

Organizers said more than 500 vacancies were available across participating school divisions. Attendees were encouraged to bring multiple copies of their resumes.

Upon arrival, participants were required to check in at the registration table in the lobby outside the job fair room and proceed to the community rooms on the left-hand side of the civic center. Organizers emphasized that only candidates who completed both registration and check-in had their contact information shared with participating human resources departments.

Craig County Public Schools, which participated in the event, shared positive feedback afterward.

“We had a great time at the WVPEC Job Fair this weekend! A huge thank you to everyone involved!” the division said in a statement.
