Kallie Fisher(#12) is greeted by Natalie Fisher(#3) during introduction of the Rocket girls at a recent game.

Snow, ice and freezing temperatures kept the Craig County High School basketball teams off the court last week as three Rocket girls’ games and two boys’ games were postponed. It could be more of the same this week with temperatures expected to be near or below the freezing point.

If weather permits, the Rockets were scheduled to return to the court Tuesday with a girls-boys varsity doubleheader at Bath County. On Thursday it’s another doubleheader, this time at Highland County, with the girls at 5:30 pm and the boys to follow.

This Saturday the Rockets are scheduled to host Bland County for a tripleheader. The jayvee boys are scheduled for noon followed by the varsity girls at 2 pm and the varsity boys at 4 pm.

Next Tuesday, February 10, the Craig boys are at Giles for a jayvee-varsity doubleheader, beginning at 5:30 pm. The girls will host Giles in New Castle with a 6 pm varsity game.

Please note that the schedule could change due to the weather or makeup dates for games that have been previously postponed.
