Chester William Wallace, 70, of New Castle, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Chester was employed at Moog in Blacksburg, VA, for 45 years, retiring in August 2019. He worked on the family farm and devoted his efforts full-time upon his retirement. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing the fresh produce with his community. Chester was a very compassionate person, always willing to help any neighbor or friend, and will be remembered for his giving heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” Wallace and Ida Mae Ruble Wallace. Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Esther Wallace; and special cousins, Sandra Ruble, Linda Reynolds (Raymond), Judy Looney (Joe – deceased), and Betsy Daniel; along with his beloved dog, Ruby, and a host of friends.

The family received friends from 4-6 PM Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Paitsel Funeral Home. A graveside service was held at 3 PM Sunday, January 4, 2026, at the Ross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Simmonsville Volunteer Fire Dept. 7932 Cumberland Gap Rd, New Castle, VA 24127.

Arrangements by Paitsel Funeral Home.
