The Craig County girls lost on the hardwood for the first time on December 17 as they closed out their pre-holiday schedule. Craig dropped a 54-31 game to Narrows in New Castle.

Freshman Emily Smith led the Rockets with 11 points while also grabbing five rebounds and dishing out five assists. Natalie Fisher was high for Craig with 11 rebounds while scoring six points and recording a couple blocked shots. Daileigh Donithan had six points.

Narrows was led by former Craig County player Kailyn Jones, who played for the Rockets as a freshman. Now a junior, Kailyn had a game high 18 points and 18 rebounds for the Green Wave with three blocks and three steals.

Now 2-1, the Rockets are off until Monday, January 5, when they travel to Giles. Then then host Eastern Montgomery on January 6 and Parry McCluer on January 8.
