Margaret Ann Brickey Elmore, 92 of Craig County, born May 9, 1932, in Roanoke, VA went to be with the Lord on August 11, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Omi Brickey; husband, Jackson G. Elmore; four brothers, Charles Brickey, Alvin Brickey, Jimmy Brickey, and Clarence Brickey.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Elmore and Randall Elmore (Lisa); grandchildren, Hillarie Wright (Jason), Michael Elmore, and Arianna Elmore; great-grandchildren, Lani Wright and Colee Wright; sister, Mary Huffman; sister-in-law, Margaret Sue Brickey; six nieces and four nephews; one special friend, Alex Ruble; and many other friends.
Margaret graduated from New Castle High School, Lewis-Gale School of Nursing and University of Alabama. She held numerous positions during her nursing career and retired from Veterans Administration Hospital after 28 years of service. She was a long-time member of Mt. View Christian Church.
Funeral Services were held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2024 at Mt. View Chrsitian Church with Jonathan Lee officiating. Interment followed at the Brickey Cemetery. The family received friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024 at Paitsel Funeral Home.
