The Craig County football team opened preseason practice on the fields behind the high school last week. Practices begin at 3:30 pm and the Rockets have two scrimmages scheduled, on Friday, August 16, at Stonewall Jackson High in Quicksburg and in New Castle against Richwood on Friday, August 23, at 6 pm. The Rockets will open at home this year on Friday, August 30, against Bland County.
